Early Childhood – Birth-Age 3 (Located on the main floor, through the family room)

We have a nursery program to serve children from 6 months to 18 months of age and a toddler program for those kids who are 18 months to three years old. The classroom participates in age-appropriate play, worship videos, and storytelling in a very nurturing environment with incredibly trained and screened leaders who will care for your little one.

Kindergarten – Age 4 to Kindergarten (Located downstairs in a separate room off the foundation room)

Our kindergarten room disciples children who are four years old until they enter grade one. They will engage in age-appropriate play and large group teaching with activities to help promote learning.

Elementary – Grades 1-4 (Located downstairs in the foundation room)

Kids dive deep into relationship with God and others through play time, worship, Bible teaching, and small group times. Large group teaching highlights God’s Big Story throughout scripture with a focus on scripture memorization and learning how to navigate the Bible all while receiving Gospel-focused teaching. Grade-specific small groups promote a deeper sense of belonging and understanding through guided conversations with leaders and hands-on application, activities, and games.

Grades 5/6 (Located in the Loft – up the stairs to the left of the Family Room)

Meeting up in The Loft, our grade 5 and 6's are taught leadership skills, spiritual disciplines, and practices as well as opportunities to serve throughout the church as they are prepared to enter middle school and transition out of KC Kids into KCYOUTH.

As a children’s ministry at a local church in Airdrie, Alberta, God has called us to be a training ground for faith and life, empowering the kids of Airdrie and the surrounding area to become agents of change and influence in their homes, schools, and communities. We believe that every child, made in the image of God—male and female (Gen 1:27)—is created with great care and purpose (Ps. 139) and is a beloved child of God (Eph 1:4-5), an heir to His kingdom (Rom. 8:17) with a place and belonging in the greater body of the Church (1 Cor 12:12). We affirm that children are active participants in the Kingdom of God, functioning fully through the power of the Holy Spirit. Every child has received spiritual gifts from God and can begin operating in those gifts at a young age (Joel 2:28).

We believe that relationships are the essential vehicle for children to learn and practice their faith as they are discipled in the truths and ways of Jesus Christ. Children are equipped with every good thing to do His will (Heb 13:21), and we hold that scripture is God-breathed, thereby empowering kids to declare its truths and promises. We are committed to creating an environment where children can experience the presence of God, learn to discern His voice, and develop the confidence to live out their faith wherever they are led. As they grow, these children will become leaders who carry the love of Jesus into every sphere of their lives, bringing hope, truth, and transformation.

We also believe that faith is caught as much as it is taught; thus, it is cultivated within the home, the church, and the broader community. Parents play a vital role in their child’s spiritual development, and we are dedicated to equipping families with the tools and support they need. The church stands alongside families, offering wisdom and encouragement, while the community serves as a place where faith is lived out and reinforced. Together, we foster a culture where children are surrounded by mentors, encouragers, and examples of steadfast faith.

Relationship

  • With God: We prioritize cultivating a personal relationship between children and God, emphasizing prayer, worship, and experiencing God’s love through Jesus Christ.
  • With Friends: We encourage meaningful connections among children, fostering friendships that are rooted in faith and mutual support, teaching them the importance of community in their spiritual walk.
  • With Leaders (Intergenerational): We value the contributions of both adult and youth leaders, promoting mentorship and accountability, and creating opportunities to learn from their wisdom.
  • With Families: We recognize the vital role of families in spiritual development and commit to building strong partnerships with parents and guardians, providing resources and support to reinforce faith at home.

Discipleship

  • Christ-Centered Teaching: Our curriculum reflects the teachings of Christ and seeks to embody His love and grace, helping children understand and apply biblical principles in their daily lives.
  • Biblical Integrity: We uphold the authority of Scripture, ensuring that our messages, lessons, and activities remain faithful to biblical truths, fostering a sound theological foundation for our children.
  • Personal Growth: We encourage our leaders to pursue their own spiritual development and growth in faith. By engaging in continuous learning and reflection, mentorship and training, leaders model a commitment to discipleship that inspires children to cultivate their relationship with Christ, deepening their understanding of biblical principles and demonstrating active faith in their daily lives.

Creativity

  • Experiential: We design interactive experiences that allow children to actively participate in their learning, ensuring they can relate biblical concepts to their lives.
  • Conversational: Our teaching approach values dialogue, encouraging children to ask questions, share insights, and engage in discussions about their faith journey.
  • Engaging: We incorporate activities, games, and crafts to make learning about God enjoyable and memorable, creating an inviting atmosphere where children can explore their faith creatively.

Celebration

  • Testimonies: We provide opportunities for children to share their personal stories of faith, celebrating their spiritual growth and the work God is doing in their lives.
  • Transitions (Class-Class-Youth): We recognize the significance of each stage in a child's spiritual journey and celebrate transitions with special events and acknowledgments that mark their growth within the ministry.
  • Milestones: We celebrate key spiritual milestones such as salvation, baptism, and Holy Spirit infilling, creating memorable moments that reinforce the children’s faith commitments and community support.

Safety

  • Plan to Protect Abuse Training: We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for all children through comprehensive training and protocols that prevent abuse and protect the well-being of every child.
  • Welcoming to Children of All Backgrounds and Abilities: We strive to create an inclusive ministry that embraces diversity and is accessible to all children, allowing them to thrive in their unique paths of faith.

Family

We actively support families through resources, workshops, and events that equip parents to nurture their children’s faith, recognizing that spiritual growth extends beyond the church environment and into the home.

Empowerment

  • Empowerment of the Holy Spirit: We teach children to rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance, strength, and courage, enabling them to live out their faith boldly in a diverse world.
  • Practical Equipping: We provide tools and training that help children apply their faith in real-world situations, emphasizing the importance of living out the teachings of Christ in their daily lives.
  • Opportunities to Serve: We offer various service projects and mission opportunities that engage children in acts of kindness and outreach, fostering compassion and a desire to impact their communities positively.
