Summer Students

Reports to: Pastor of Kingdom Kids & Family Ministry
Terms: Contract May - August 2025
Start Date: May 2025


Kingdom City Church is looking for three Summer Students for the months of May - August 2025. These students will report to the Pastor of Kingdom Kids & Family Ministries and play a vital role in supporting the mission of Kingdom City by helping to advance the Kingdom Kids program, helping with Sunday morning programming, VBS & other kids and family events during the summer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

The main responsibility is to assist in the advancement of Kingdom Kids primarily through our summer VBS & Sunday Programming.  

 

Sunday Morning ProgramMing  

During our Sunday Kingdom Kids services (9:00/11:15) be an integral part of a team who will:  

  • Assist the Director of Kingdom Kids in preparing for Sunday mornings by laying out curriculum, prepping for crafts, ensuring adequate supplies are available, making sure the environments and classes are safe, fresh, and exciting. 

  • Willingness to teach and lead classes each week. 

  • Assist on Sunday morning by supporting the Kingdom Kids team as needed and be flexible with role and expectations.  

 

VBS(May-JUly) 

  • Involved throughout the whole process of planning & executing our two-week VBS in July.

  • You will collaborate with the team (fellow Summer Students, Director of Kingdom Kids & the Pastor of Kingdom Kids) to plan, prepare, recruit, decorate, run, coordinate, and tear down VBS.  

 

Other 

  • Weekly administrative tasks as assigned by Director.  

  • Maintain Kingdom Kids spaces. 

  • Assist with occasional out-of-regular-office-hours needs/ events: 

  • Canada Day Family event  

  • KC Team Appreciation Event 

  • Youth events as needed.  

  • Willing and able to complete tasks as delegated by the Kingdom Kids Director as requested.  

  • Willing and able to help church staff and other ministry areas as needed (Operations, Connections, City Serve, etc.) 

 

Requirements 

  • Clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him. 

  • Adhere to Kingdom City’s Statement of faith and comply with our Kingdom City Employee Handbook (read & sign before employment commencement).  

  • Plan to Protect® Screening and Police Check is required for this role. 

  • Be available to work in office, Sunday to Thursday from 8:00am-4:00pm (Hours are subject to change to accommodate events or special activities) 

  • Be willing and able to work as part of a team with extensive collaboration. 

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Canva, Mailchimp, and Social Media Platforms are an asset but not required. 

  • Creativity skills, organizational skills, and experience in event planning are all assets but not required.
