Trunk or Treat

  • Kingdom City (Parking Lot) 1604 Summerfield Boulevard Southeast Airdrie, AB, T4B 1C7 Canada (map)

OCTOBER 31 ・ 6:00PM–8:30PM

This Halloween, we want to bless the kids of our city. We want to love our community, and what better way than to open our hearts—and, in this case, our trunks!—and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters?

HOW IT WORKS

Decorated vehicles will be lined up in our parking lot, trunks filled with candy that has been generously donated by our congregation. As kids trick or treat in our neighbourhood, we will welcome families to walk through, going from car to car for the ultimate candy haul.

3 WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

We’re inviting our greater church-family to partner with Kingdom City Youth in this fun initiative. Join us for the evening and help be the friendly face of Kingdom City and, more importantly, of Jesus. Are you in? There are three ways you can be part of this event:

1. Candy Drive

From October 2–30, we will be collecting candy to hand out at Trunk or Treat. Drop-off your donations of wrapped candy or snacks* to help us reach our goal and fill the huge collection bin in the church foyer!

*No homemade treats, please.

2. Bring a Trunk

Your vehicle could be one of 30 trunks!

Individuals or families—Psst! This is a great way to serve together! —who register their vehicles will hang out in our parking lot for the duration of the evening. You’ll need to decorate your vehicle ahead of time (non-scary themes only). Then, we’ll fill your trunks with loads of candy and leave it to you to engage in friendly chatter as you pass out treats.

3. Volunteer

We are calling for volunteers who will laugh, smile, and interact with everyone who steps on our property. If that’s you, there are multiple roles you can sign-up for:

WAVERS

Encourage passersby to walk through our parking lot, letting them know about all the candy we have waiting for them.

GREETERS / PRAY-ERS

Circulate and greet our “guests.” Be praying silently for them and be available to pray with them if anyone needs prayer.

HOT DRINK STATION

Prepare and serve hot chocolate and coffee to parents and be ready to engage in brief conversations.

SECURITY (SCREENED)

Supervise the church building which will be open to allow public use of our washrooms. Security could also be praying over the whole event!
